The role

Syncio is looking for a Junior Full-Stack Engineer (AI-First) to become an integral part of our product engineering team and help build the next frontier of commerce.

You should be someone who already uses AI tools like Cursor or Claude daily and has developed real judgment about when to trust them, when to push back, and how to prompt them well.

In this position, you will be involved in every phase of the development process - from conceptualisation to deployment. You’ll work alongside our founder, CTO, engineering lead, product manager, designer, and CX specialists to help define and build Syncio’s product features.

You'll be responsible for developing , testing and deploying solutions that enhance our platform's functionality, performance, and security, with an equal focus on both backend and frontend. You’ll also drive high code quality through automated testing and proactive resolution of performance issues.

This role is not just about technical implementation; you'll be encouraged to contribute to product discussions, bringing your technical insights to help shape our product and directly interact with customers to understand their needs.

What you will do

As a Junior Full-Stack Software Engineer, you’ll work on exciting projects that help merchants collaborate seamlessly. Here’s what you’ll focus on:

• Become an integral part of the product engineering team
  • Work with the founder, CTO, engineering lead, product manager, designer, and CX specialists (basically everyone) to define Syncio’s feature and product set.
• Drive technical excellence
  • Develop and deploy full-stack solutions that enhance the platform's functionality, performance, and security.
  • The work split is 50% backend and 50% frontend.
  • Drive high code quality through automated testing, and proactive resolution of performance bottlenecks.
• Enable cross-team collaboration to flourish across multiple time zones
  • High-quality communicator and team player in a remote-first environment.
  • A self-managing team member who thrives in autonomy and a high-paced, dynamic environment.
• Help shape how Syncio builds with AI
  • Model AI-native engineering habits day to day (prompting, reviewing AI output, shipping fast without cutting corners)
  • Share learnings openly, run small show-and-tells, help the team level up together.
  • Push back on AI-generated work that isn’t good enough. High standards are how AI-first stays credible, not a free pass
